How do we get young people excited to learn about money? That’s the question behind 2mins: a financial education app created by father-and-daughter duo Chris and Emily Boxall (think Duolingo… but for finance!). Through bite-sized stories, quirky animal characters and two-minute games, 2mins brings energy and humour to dry financial topics, making finance feel accessible to those who never thought it was for them.
This September, 2mins launched its 12-week Founding Schools Programme, giving students the opportunity to explore financial topics through three short games each week. Over 1,000 students have registered across nine participating schools, with teachers incorporating the games into tutor time, PSHE and independent learning. Their feedback is helping shape the platform’s future development.
As the programme approaches its conclusion in December, the 2mins team is looking ahead to the next stage of its schools offering, including a dedicated teacher dashboard. Schools interested in taking part in future programmes are invited to register their interest at 2minsapp.co.uk/schools.
