Making the Most of Your Membership
Our 'Core Mission' is to improve the economic and business understanding and capabilities of learners in schools and colleges. To achieve this, we focus on:
- Understanding and practising effective teaching in our subject areas.
- Advocating for our subjects in terms of both their scope and position in the curriculum.
Key member benefits to note are:
Free access to the EBEA's Subject-Specific Professional Development Programme delivered by our Senior and Principal Fellows, including articles, webinars and conferences covering the key topics members have highlighted in our annual 'Professional Development Needs Survey'.
The EBEA's termly journal 'Teaching Business and Economics (TBE)', mailed to members in both hard copy and available from our website. TBE is packed with articles on all the latest topics of concern to teachers in our discipline.
Our weekly e-newsletter 'Headspace', drip-feeding professional development ideas and inspiration throughout the academic year.
The opportunity to apply for the award of Senior Fellowship by completing an 'evidence-based topic review' with the support of an EBEA Mentor. You'll find details here.
Full access to our archive of resources at www.ebea.org.uk going back over ten years and covering many of the pedagogical and curriculum challenges teachers face on a day-to-day basis.
Member institutions are also entitled to apply for the 'EBEA Quality Mark' - full details here.
We are confident you will find the EBEA an invaluable source of support in the coming years, just as teachers of economics and business have since 1937! Do get in touch at office@ebea.org.uk if you have any further questions about how to make the most of your membership.
Best wishes
Gareth Taylor
