If you teach business, economics or enterprise, The EBEA is your professional subject association. Our aim is to support your professional development and help you to be the best you can be.
We do this by:
- providing members with subject specific teaching and curriculum guidance from experienced practitioners;
- supporting trainees, ECTs and mentors to meet the subject specific expectations of professional development frameworks;
- promoting the teaching of Economics, Business and Enterprise at school, college and government level;
- facilitating subject, pedagogical and curriculum debate and representing the views of members to the wider education sector.
EBEA MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES:
- access to the ‘Article Archive’ of support and guidance organised by topic;
- the EBEA magazine ‘Teaching Business and Economics’, published three times a year, provides a steady stream of subject specific teaching and curriculum ideas and guidance;
- the EBEA monthly e-newsletter;
- access to our trainee and mentor online conferences and webinars;
- representation at Ofsted and DfE. See our Advocacy Section.
BENEFITS FOR HEADS OF DEPARTMENT & SUBJECT:
- an institutional membership ensures everyone in your team has access to the latest subject specific teaching and curriculum guidance in relation to both Teaching Standards and OFSTED’s Inspection Framework;
- membership will enable you to evidence both your own subject specific professional development and support for ECTs and trainees in line with the relevant standards frameworks.
BENEFITS FOR EXPERIENCED TEACHERS:
- active membership of a subject association is a source of evidence of professional development at appraisal and for gaining the next grade on the pay scale;
- engagement with the EBEA is a great way to keep your teaching and curriculum knowledge up to date and learn from others in the profession;
- membership provides an opportunity to influence the future of the subject and work with others to influence policy at a national level;
- sharing your own expertise by contributing to the work of the EBEA is not only rewarding in itself but is a great way to enhance your professional standing and career prospects.
BENEFITS FOR TRAINEES & NEW TEACHERS:
- access to subject specific guidance from experienced practitioners linked to teaching standards and the Early Career Framework;
- the opportunity to attend the EBEA’s online New Teacher Conference;
- enables you to evidence your professional development and learn first-hand from exam boards, academics and OFSTED.
Whether you are studying, supporting teachers or trainees or teaching Economics, Business Studies or Enterprise we hope you will consider joining the EBEA.
